Abstract

 The current research aims to:

1 - Building a measure of self-disclosure for the current research sample (orphans).

2 - Self-disclosure of orphaned students according to the gender variable (males - females)

For the purpose of achieving the two objectives of the research, it was required to build a scale of self-disclosure that fits the specificity of the sample (orphan students) and by relying on the adopted theory (Altman and Taylor theory, 1973) the scale was built by the two researchers and in its initial form consists of (30) situational paragraphs, and it takes three responses  Attitudinal and be respectively (positive, neutral, negative), and after completing all the psychometric characteristics of the scale, it became in its final form ready for final application on the sample of (430) male and female students from secondary schools, and it consists of (27) situational items that take three attitudinal responses (positive and take  3 degrees, neutral and take two degrees, and negative and take one degree) with a hypothetical mean of the scale of (54 degrees).

The research reached the following results:

1 - The statistical indicators of the self-disclosure scale that was built for this study have been achieved

2 - There is a low degree of self-disclosure in the current research sample

Based on the findings, a set of recommendations and proposals have been developed.
