Abstract
Nuri Al-Said is one of the most prominent Iraqi politicians in the royal era. His political history is closely related to that era until the fall of the monarchy on July 14, 1958. In fact, Nuri Al-Said is one of the best models in the contemporary history of Iraq to determine the role of the individual in history. Certain events in his person or his role in managing them, and his position on the political developments that Syria witnessed after Hosni al-Zaim launched his military coup on March 30, 1949, was not outside this context.
Historical documents reveal to us and shed a bright light on his role in overthrowing Hosni al-Zaim in Syria, a subject around which many doubts arose and opinions varied until the documents revealed his role in this matter in a way that removed ambiguity and doubt. A new part of her political life was marked by the military's interference in the affairs of government and the decline in the role of constitutional institutions in it.
