Required Documents for Submission

Authors must provide the following Microsoft Word files at the time of submission:

  1. Cover Letter

  2. Title Page — including all authors' full names, affiliations, email addresses (preferably institutional), and ORCID IDs

  3. Main Manuscript — including the full text with figures and tables embedded

  4. Other Information — Acknowledgements, Funding Details, Authors' Contributions, Data Availability Statement, Conflict of Interest, and Ethical Compliance Statements


Instructions for Authors

Submission Process

  • All manuscripts must be submitted electronically or via the journal's official email:
    ecjuow@uowasit.edu.iq

  • The corresponding author is responsible for communication during submission, peer review, and publication. They must ensure that all co-authors have read and approved the manuscript and accepted authorship responsibilities.

  • We recommend that authors familiarize themselves with international standards such as the ICMJE recommendations for ethical authorship and manuscript submission.


Types of Manuscripts Accepted

  • Original Research Articles

  • Theoretical Papers

  • Critical Reviews

  • Letters or Commentaries

  • Educational or Pedagogical Case Studies


Manuscript Preparation

Formatting Guidelines

  • Arabic manuscripts: Font – Simplified Arabic, Size 14 (main text); Size 12 (footnotes)

  • English manuscripts: Font – Times New Roman, Size 12 (main text); Size 10 (footnotes)

  • Page Size: A4, maximum of 20 pages (extra fees apply beyond this limit)


Manuscript Structure

  • Title Page (separate document)

    • Full Title

    • Authors’ Names, Affiliations, Emails, and ORCID IDs

    • Indicate the corresponding author clearly

    • Provide contact details (including country code)

  • Main Manuscript

    • Abstract (200–350 words)

    • Keywords (4–6)

    • Introduction

    • Methodology

    • Results

    • Discussion

    • Conclusion

    • Other Required Sections:

      • Acknowledgements

      • Funding Information

      • Authors’ Contributions

      • Data Availability Statement

      • Conflict of Interest

      • Ethical Compliance (if applicable)


Figures and Tables

  • All figures and tables must be embedded in the main manuscript for review.

  • Use MS Word's table formatting tools (not Excel).

  • Number tables/figures consecutively (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1).

  • Provide descriptive titles and legends.

  • Define all abbreviations used within figures or tables.


Supplementary Material

Authors may submit supplementary digital content such as datasets, surveys, extended tables/figures, or videos. These will be made available via a link in the article but will not be copyedited or embedded in the final published version.


References and Citation Style

All references must follow the APA Style (7th Edition). Below are sample formats:

In-Text Citations:

  • Single author: (Ali, 2020)

  • Two authors: (Kareem & Hassan, 2018)

  • Three or more: (Zubaidi et al., 2021)

Reference List Examples:

  • Journal Article:

Revised Manuscripts

Upon receiving reviewer comments, authors must submit:

  • Revised Cover Letter

  • Response to Reviewer Comments (point-by-point)

  • Revised Manuscript with changes clearly marked using Track Changes or colored text


Accepted Manuscripts & Proofs

  • Authors will receive PDF proofs for final review before publication.

  • Only corrections related to factual errors will be accepted at this stage.

  • Authors must return proofs within 48 hours of receipt.


Corrections Policy

Minor Corrections:

  • Misspelled names, missing funding details, incorrect academic titles

Major Corrections:

  • Data errors, change in author list, missing ethical disclosures

Requests for author addition/removal must follow COPE guidelines with approval from all co-authors.

Plagiarism Policy

All submissions undergo plagiarism screening using Turnitin.

  • Maximum allowed similarity index: 20%

  • Plagiarism or data manipulation will result in rejection or retraction in accordance with COPE guidelines.

This journal follows a full open-access policy under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

  • Authors retain copyright.

  • Articles are freely accessible online without subscription fees.

  • 100,000 IQD for authors within Iraq

  • $100 USD for authors outside Iraq
