Islamic poetry and its role in sustaining moral values (Sabeq Al-Barbari poetry as a model)

Abstract

The discourses of a class of poets produced by the Islamic system with its principles, values and moral foundations were intertwined with those data, so that the theories of that group were unique within their organized production with a series of moral citations articulated with the texts of that belief, and what the latter carried of patterns and principles that elevate the intellectual and moral concept of the being for itself to higher ranks within the divine perspective. When the faculties of the creative model are stripped of their dealings with phenomena and the sensory and material connections of objective reality, in an effort to preserve its components and moral values, then those literary and poetic secretions - laden with signs of authentic moral reference between the self and the other - will establish a starting point that evokes the principles of sustainability for those values, and maintains their continuity within its circulated poetic texts. Those poetic experiences filled with their transcendent value systems became elevated to the ranks of influential spiritual incentives and motivations in a decisive manner in their recipients, as the mechanisms of sustainability and stability Extending across time and space in its creative spoken form, it has been expressed by a group of poets who dedicated their poetry to evoking those moral ideals within the Islamic community, including the ascetic poet (Sabiq Al-Barbari), whose rhymes possessed a distinct and unique character in establishing the foundations of authentic Islamic values and sustaining them in the memory of the recipient. Therefore, this research will reveal the creative output of this poet and the extent of his contribution to establishing and sustaining the moral bonds approved by the sacred Sharia
