Abstract

    Despite the scientific progress and technical development that the world is witnessing at the present time, there is a deterioration in the land cover, and Wasit Governorate is heading to rehabilitate it and work to protect and develop it through the use of modern means, namely remote sensing and geographic information systems that help in detecting the changes occurring in the land cover As the study of the land cover is considered one of the sites of special importance in the planning and development processes. The classification process was carried out in the study area and building spatial relationships for it to obtain a table of characteristics that included the areas for each class and store them to complete the building of the database and conduct analyzes on it
