The History of Islam in the Perspectives of Danish Orientalist Franz Bohl and His Book "Islam in Brief

Abstract

In this book, "Islam in Brief," written in Danish, the image of Islam is embodied through various Orientalist personal perceptions of thought and belief. Another party attempts to deepen the boundaries of disagreement and difference between Islam and other divine religions, and to diminish the authenticity of the Islamic religion in order to elevate its religious identity and make it more acceptable and cohesive compared to other religions. The debate between the self and the other is present in this character and throughout this book. The author follows the path of most Orientalists of his time, presenting baseless concerns, accusations, and opinions, particularly regarding the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the Holy Quran. Given our need to investigate this Orientalist's perceptions of Islam, the rulings and goals he sought to achieve, and the style and methodology he followed, we have attempted in this research to deconstruct and critique the various historical and religious contexts he followed in his approach in this book, to gain a deeper understanding of his position on Islam and our noble Prophet, and to highlight his role and the outcomes he led to, especially since his writings Most of them were at the heart of our Islamic history and civilization.
