Abstract

   The study highlights the position of the Achaemenid state and its contribution to the Peloponnesian Wars 431-404 BC. In the first phase of these wars (431-421 BC), the Achaemenids stood at one distance between the two sides of the conflict, for the aim sought by King Ardashir I and the Achaemenid kings And the destruction of some of them, Ardashir I will achieve his goal less losses of this war, so preferred to wait for the outcome of the conflict between them, and did not support the Achaemenid state one of the parties until the end of the rule of King Ardeshir I. In the second phase of these wars (421-413 BC), the Achaemenids intervened directly in the second stage of the Peloponnesian wars, and sought to balance the power between Athens and Spain in order to weaken them, following a diplomatic policy (Tisafern), as well For the Achaemenid funds that played a major role in the continuation of this war, and thus the Achaemenid state victory over the Greeks to use funds and diplomacy, and achieved the King Dara II unless achieved by the previous kings.
