The study sheds light on marriage and divorce in the customs and laws of Achaemenid (559- 330 BC). We reviewed the marriage decrees, marriage contract, the parties to this contract, the marriage legislation, the marriage traditions of changes in concepts and their impact on marriage laws in Mesopotamia, The study focused on the wedding equipment and gifts offered by the girl's family to their daughter's husband. The study examined the reasons for divorce and its consequences. The study also reviewed polygamy, and the most important phenomenon known to the Achaemenid state is marriage of incest.
