Abstract

This study is based on clarifying the variation of the marital status of women aged (45-49) years in the urban centers of Wasit governorate due to a combination of economic, social and political factors. Wasit governorate is one of the governorates of Iraq which witnessed spatial and temporal variation.

The percentage of married women, divorced women and widows was studied using mathematical formulas using data from (1997) and field study data (2019).

The study concluded that the marital status of women aged (45-49) years varies spatially at the level of urban centers in Wasit governorate and temporarily during the study period and the economic and social conditions play a prominent role in determining their trends.
