Geographical analysis of air cargo at Baghdad International Airport

The research dealt with air freight at Baghdad International Airport for the year 2022 with the aim of understanding its aspects and efficiency, given the lack of geographical studies in this field, and used multiple approaches: historical to establish the air freight department and the development of Iraqi Airways, descriptive to understand the air freight process at the airport, analytical to study the impact of geographical factors, and quantitative to process digital data, based on statistical sources and data and a field study to know the stages of the air freight process at Baghdad International Airport, and the research reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which is that human factors have negative and positive effects, as politics and wars affect the movement of air freight, and air freight at Baghdad Airport faced challenges including a shortage of workers, equipment and refrigerators, the goods warehouse (incoming, outgoing) is not at the required level, in addition to the fact that the road leading to the airport and the warehouse is not well paved.
