Abstract

      This research sheds light upon the poliy of the first great king xerxes toward Babylon and Egypt ,it came in two axes ,the first axis :search the xerxes s policy toward Babylon and how it differed from his fathers Darius policy (B.C 525_530) ,and the policy of Cyrus ll ( B.C 530-559) where they were known for the two kings of Babylon tolerance  policy with the people and treat them  special treatment and offered saceifices to the God Marduk main deity of  Babylon  and  it retained political and religious status .In the  poliy has varied ,especially aftter Babylon revolution aginst the ruling Achaemenid twice during the reign of this king which led to the wrath of  xerxes  against Babylon and he spent on these  revolution  with full force and cruelty and destruction of Babylon      and its religious temples and melting statue of the God Marduk ,Babylon  lost in the era xerxes its religious ,political and he divided it and canceled the long head of Babylon year celebration (Alokito).

While the second axis touch on xerxes poliy toward Egypt which was the same of Babylon .Egypt deprived of the most basic privileges after enjoying particularly as the most important cities in the region of his predecessors and it became an ordinary city non_political  and xerxes didn’t take pharaonic titles
