Similarities and differences in Russian and Arabic languages

The article considers the issue of grammatical categories in Russian and Arabic languages, marks similarities and languages, gives comparative analysis, presents categories of gender, number, animation/inanimate. It has been determined to which families both languages belong and why the grammatical system has changed over time. The similarities and differences of the number category are considered in detail, the dual number in Arabic and Old Russian is given, examples from Old Russian are presented, which in grammatical categories were similar to Arabic. The article considers works of linguists who study grammatical and lexical system of Russian, ancient Russian and Arabic languages. At the end of the article the conclusions of the study are given, which prove the similarity and difference of Russian and Arabic languages and the reasons for their changes.
