Henry IV and the Circumstances of His Accession to the Throne of England (1413 – 1399)

This study aims to analyze the political and social conditions that led to Henry IV’s accession to the throne of England, and to examine how he dealt with the challenges he faced after seizing power. The rise of King Henry IV was not smooth; he encountered many internal challenges such as revolts, noble family disputes, and financial problems caused by ongoing wars and conflicts. Despite these difficulties, King Henry IV managed to consolidate his rule by employing rational policies and strengthening his authority through Parliament.
During his reign, he had to reinforce his position among the nobility, especially with threats emerging from members of the royal family and opposition factions. His power was further stabilized after suppressing the northern rebellion in England and other uprisings that threatened the stability of his reign.
