Conceptual Thinking In Sustainable Environmental Behavior Among University Students

This research aims to assess the level of conceptual thinking in sustainable environmental behavior among university students, considering the growing importance of environmental awareness as a pillar of sustainable development in higher education. The study employed a descriptive methodology and involved a core sample of 200 male and female university students across different academic majors. To achieve the study objectives, a 30-item test was developed based on a five-point Likert scale. The validity and reliability of the instrument were confirmed, with Cronbach's Alpha coefficient reaching 0.89, indicating high internal consistency. The results of the one-sample t-test revealed a statistically significant difference between the students' mean scores and the hypothetical average, suggesting a good level of conceptual thinking and sustainable environmental behavior among students. Furthermore, the independent-samples t-test indicated statistically significant gender differences in favor of female students, reflecting their higher awareness and engagement in sustainable practices. The study recommends integrating sustainability concepts into university curricula and promoting green practices on campuses
