Abstract

      Noise pollution is one of the most prominent features of contemporary society because it is a source of anxiety and instability through its impact on human health and comfort and the quality of life that it lives. The city of Sumer, especially in recent times, has been exposed to various sources of noise that are difficult to control due to the increase in the population and economic growth In addition to the rapid increase in the number of different transport vehicles and private electric generators and the practice of many commercial and industrial businesses, the study showed by checking the noise levels in different areas of the city, as it carried out measurement work in more than (50) selected locations found that most of these measurements exceed acceptable levels of noise according to the standards of the World Health Organization and then the associated risks and health and productive effects on workers and individuals.
