Abstract

After the collapse of the political system in Iraq in 2003, there was a change in its society, specifically with regard to national identity, as successive governments worked to establish a national identity for the Iraqis, distinguishing them from their neighbors, whether they are Arabs or non-Arabs, Muslims or others, And due to the fragile security situation, which was a reason to attract terrorists, from all countries of the world, to form hotbeds of terrorism, and to support corruption and regional interference, specifically in 2014, and the violations and military attacks that these terrorist groups have caused, mainly targeting the rights of civilians and Including minorities in Iraq, This was the reason that minorities did not enjoy their rights, in addition to international interventions, which tried to prefer the sub-identity over the national identity, and that by supporting these minorities and assisting them, in return we find the insistence of some members of these minorities to adhere to the national identity.
