The current research aimed at identifying the level of irrational thoughts and cognitive failure among middle school students. As well as revealing the relationship between these variables.
To achieve this, the researcher adopted a measure of irrational thoughts built by (Al-Marsoumi, 2009). The scale consists of (60) items with a triple hierarchy which is and the scale of knowledge failure built by (Mohamed, 2012). Which consists of (40) paragraphs with a triple hierarchy is The study was applied to a random sample of (300) male and female students from junior high students in Anbar Governorate, the researcher extracted the standard characteristics of the research criteria To find out its suitability for the current sample, and after analyzing the students ’answers to the research tools, the results of the research showed the following:
- The sample has an average level of irrational thoughts, and the degrees of the sample members have approached the level of the hypothetical medium.
- The sample has a low level of cognitive failure, and the mean scores for the individuals on the cognitive failure scale were less than the hypothetical mean of the scale, which is statistically significant.
- There is a positive correlation between irrational thoughts and cognitive failure.
