The despotism of the religious establishment in the ancient Iraqi thought
The priests in ancient Iraq had a great role in converting religion from ideas and beliefs found to rid the ancient Iraqi man of the state of fear and psychological anxiety experienced in his daily life, to a means of subjugation used by the ruling class in directing the thinking and behavior of members of the ancient Iraqi society to obey the forces of control and despotism. And that through their monopoly of culture and teaching and religious rituals on the one hand, and formulated in a manner that serves their interests and exclusivity of power in that society on the other.
