Evaluating the efficiency of pure water service in the city of Amarah

Abstract

he research aims to determine the efficiency of pure water service in the city of Amarah, which is located within the course of the Tigris River and at the bottom of it. It is affected by the extent of the low rate of river levels and the scarcity of water that leads to an increase in the concentration of pollution. Therefore, it requires that drinking water purification stations be efficient. It has been shown that the study area suffers from a deficit in potable water by (50806), M /day. As the water supplied from the stations and water purification projects in the study area amounted to (212200), (M/day), while the required water to be supplied amounted to (263006), M/day. It became clear through a comparison of the water quality with local and international standards for drinking water, that most of the water element concentrations fall outside the permissible limits. The study is based on the ratio of concentrations of elements (EC, TH, SO4, TDS) are not conforming to specifications and not suitable for drinking.
