Systematic thinking among police college students

The current research aims to identify systematic thinking among students of the Police College. The research population consisted of 1,650 students from the Police College in Baghdad for the academic year 2023-2024. A research sample of 312 male students was selected from the first-year (new recruits) and second-year (intermediate) levels.
After reviewing literature and previous studies, the researcher developed a Systematic Thinking Scale consisting of 30 items. The psychometric properties of the scale were determined, including face validity and construct validity indicators. Reliability was measured using the test-retest method and Cronbach’s alpha, based on a sample of 40 students.
The data was statistically analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The results indicated that the students demonstrated a high level of systematic thinking, which can be attributed to their ability to approach problems and tasks in an organized and logical manner by analyzing information, planning, and making well-considered decisions. Systematic thinking is considered an essential skill for students, given its crucial role in preparing them for professional tasks that require discipline and precision.
