Abstract

This research analyzes the litigation procedures during the Neo-Babylonian period based on ancient Iraqi legal documents. It begins with the filing of formal lawsuits, proceeds through the presentation of evidence and the administration of oaths, and concludes with deliberations and the issuance of judgments. The study demonstrates that precise legal terminology was employed in documenting assertions, contributing to the development of an effective judicial system in ancient Iraq. The analysis is based on the translation and interpretation of a series of legal texts that accurately record the stages of litigation
