Abstract

This research studies how the number of people living in the neighborhoods of Al-Kut city has changed over time. It compares the number and percentage of people in each neighborhood in the years 1997 and 2023. The study uses statistical analysis to measure the total increase in population and how it changed over the years It also uses a method called logarithmic transformation to divide the neighborhoods into three groups based on how many people live in them: high, medium, and low population density. The results show that the number of neighborhoods increased by about six between 1997 and 2023. Also, the number of neighborhoods with high population density grew from only 4 in 1997 to 16 in 2023. This means that more people are now living in a smaller number of neighborhoods, showing a clear population concentration
