Abstract

The study aimed to analyze the geographical distribution of drug users among juveniles in all Iraqi governorates except the Kurdistan Region, By identifying their numerical, rank and relative distribution for the years 2019 and 2023, In addition to studying their gender and age composition, statistical analysis was used to determine the relative distribution of drug addicts, They were distributed according to gender (males and females), and also according to age groups, which were divided into three age groups. Standard scores were also used to divide them into groups to identify the extent of variation in this distribution at the level of Iraq’s governorates.

The study reached a set of results, the most  prominent of which was the emergence of an increase in the number of drug users among juveniles. The Iraqi governorates recorded numbers of 1,509 and 1,257 users, respectively, during the years 2019 and 2023, At the governorate level, Baghdad Governorate ranked first in the number of drug users. It also appeared that the number of juvenile male drug users was higher than that of females, and that most of them were in the(15-17) age group.
