The historic significance of the Haitian Revolution of 1791-1804 comes from being against the most important international force of that date, France. This revolution extended until the rule of Napoleon and his military leadership, which collapsed in Haiti in an unprecedented manner, and between the two forces. Moreover, it was the first revolution in the modern history of black slaves, and the second in the Western Hemisphere after the American War of Independence 1776.
