Throughout the long history of humanity, marriage has not only been a societal agreement legalized through relations, but it has been in many cases a method with important economic, political and authoritarian contents.
This paper studies political marriage throughout history in general, and during the flourishing of the ruling eras of Kurdish emirates in the Seljukian and Bwaihian ages.
The social structure of the Kurdish emirates had been a mixture of their old systems with the new Islamic ones as they converted to Islam. This paper tackles a number of topics including political marriage in the ancient civilizations as well as in various periods in the history of Islame before and after the emergence of the Kurdish emirates. The focus of the study is on political marriage in the Kurdish emirates in the fourth and fifth centuries of the Hijri calendar.
