Abstract

  The aim of the research is to find out the level of online addiction among high school students and the significance of statistical differences according to the following variables: A- Type (male - female) B - Specialization (scientific - literary).

The current research was limited to secondary students of both sexes in Anbar province, Ramadi district within the General Directorate of Anbar Education. The researchers adopted the steps of descriptive descriptive approach to achieve the objectives of his research. The current research community consisted of (75800) male and female students. The sample was randomly selected. The sample was 120 students. In order to achieve the research objectives, the researchers adopted the online addiction scale for Kimberly Young (1996), which was passed on to the Iraqi environment by university students (Mojjel and Brissem, 2016). The researchers also investigated the cycometric properties of the scale. The scale was applied to the research community after processing the data using the following statistical means: the square of Kai, the Pearson correlation coefficient, the one test for one sample, the test of two independent groups. The results showed the following: 1 - the level of addiction to the Internet higher than the average in the sample. There are differences in the level of addiction in favor of males.
