Abstract

The scientific estate in Iraq has a great place among all academic scientific and political institutions . Of course the link of the scientific estate in people's life especially the spiritual side . It has a powerful influence on the Islamic world in general which distinguishes it from any other religious , intellectual or political institution . It has had an impact on Iraqi political life and its influence included the Arab and Islamic world for intellectual holidays and the influence in political life in the history of Iraq and Muslims .
The scientific estate in Iraq played a major role in the May movement 1941 which led Britain to occupy Iraq during the Second World War which the estate saw as a violation of Iraq's independence . It issued religious statements and ordered the struggle against the British occupation . The scientific estate was able to influence the public opinion of Najaf and to respond to appeal of religious scholars . It's influenced the efforts of literary associations , patriotic and national elements which organized demonstrations and meetings continued for days when speeches and national poems were given .
