The structure of the objective equivalent in the novel "Shataan Alramad" by Dr. Ali Awad Abdullah.

Abstract

The novel by Iraqi Museli writer Dr. Ali Awad Abdullah, titled ( Shataan Alramad) is one of a number of novels that chronicle the events of Musel, the ISIS invasion, and the devastation and tragedies it inflicted, a tragedy that has horrified both Iraqi and international society. It truly manages to describe what happened, but in an evocative artistic language embodied in the novel, just as the language of poetry and theater has been able to condemn those tragedies and great devastation.

However, just as the novel depicts a collapsing human and political reality, it simultaneously positions itself among modernist works of art that present a high level of narrative art that rises to the level of Iraqi novel writing, particularly after 2003. The novel,          Shataan Alramad is very rich on the artistic level, as it attempts to exploit the realist-artistic dialectic and present it, ready-made, to the recipient and the world, to represent two important messages. The first is a humanitarian message to the world, recording the worst phase Mosul has ever experienced in its history, marked by destruction and death. The second is an artistic message, as it utilizes all possible literary and artistic means to shape its narrative structure.

In our current  study, we will address an important structural artistic phenomenon that played a role in achieving the artistic value of this novel: the structure of the objective equivalent. This study is based on the main narrative structures of time, place, and character.
