Christian Missions in India ( 1500 _ 1900)

Many European powers appeared in India since the 15th century when a sea route was discovered to reach it. These powers، namely Portugal، France، the Netherlands، Denmark and Britain، emerged after the expansion of their empires in India . Christian thought was introduced to India during the first century AD but was well established by the 19th century. Christian missionaries also introduced several changes in Indian society with positive effects in the social and religious aspects. However، at the same time، the concepts and intentions of the Christian message were not clear. Indians noticed that Christian missions and colonialism went hand in hand، as colonialism paved the way for Christian mission activities and at the same time helped the Christian mission to consolidate colonial power in the country.
