تدرس هذه الورقة البحثية مفهوم المبالغة في الخطابات السياسية الأمريكية، وخاصة تلك التي ألقتها نائبة رئيس الولايات المتحدة، كامالا هاريس. وتهدف الدراسة إلى اكتشاف الأدوات الأسلوبية المستخدمة في الخطاب السياسي، والتي تساهم في بناء المبالغة في الخطاب السياسي، وتأثيرها على الجمهور للتعبير عن المبالغة، وكيف يستخدمها السياسيون في خطابهم استراتيجيًا. بالنسبة لنموذج التحليل ،أُستخدم ليچ وشورت (2007) كنموذج للتحليل في هذه الدراسة. وفيما يتعلق بمنهج التحليل، فقد تم استخدام المنهج النوعي لتحليل البيانات المعنية. وتخلص الدراسة إلى أن السياسيين، مثل هاريس، يستخدمون في خطاباتهم أدوات لغوية مثل الاستعارة والإقناع والمبالغة والتكرار والتشبيه والتجسيد والنبرة والتأكيد والتوازي أسلوبيًا لتمثيل المبالغة في القضايا الوطنية. كما تكشف الدراسة أن المبالغة في السياق السياسي تُشكل أداة إقناع تُشكل تصور الجمهور من خلال لغة مشحونة عاطفيًا، وذلك باستخدام أدوات أسلوبية لتصوير الطموح السياسي في صورة مثالية، بهدف إبراز إنجازاتهم السياسية والوطنية، وبالتالي تحقيق أهدافهم السياسية.
