Abstract

The research dealt with China's policy towards the intervention of the Soviet Union in Angola for the period 1971-1976, as it touched on China's political strategy in Angola and its motives, and how it faced the policies of the Soviet Union in Angola, and dealt with Chinese aid to Angola and how it greatly exceeded what the Soviet Union provided, except in aid Military superiority of the Soviets.

China's view of African countries, especially Angola, as belonging to third world countries, and on the basis of that, China sought to try to attract and lead them, as well as the affiliation of African countries to the Non-Aligned Movement, in which China sought to confront Soviet influence, and to benefit from African votes within the United Nations, as well as the importance and capacity of the Angolan market To absorb Chinese exports, which found strong competition in the Asian and European markets.

China used all propaganda means to spread its ideology and achieve its interests in Angola and mobilized huge efforts to serve its goals and confirm its international position in the face of the Soviet Union.

The research also dealt with the issue of the intervention of countries supporting China or the Soviet Union. The Security Council discussed the Cuban intervention in Angola when China complained about the failure of the draft resolution that denounced Soviet socialism and its mercenaries because of the intervention of the Soviet Union, and that the draft resolution did not reflect the just demand for immediate and complete withdrawal from Angola, But despite that, China agreed to denounce South Africa, as it was worried about South Africa's interference in Angola and saw the need for the withdrawal of South African forces so that this intervention would not be a reason for welcoming some African countries and standing by the Mbla movement given the sensitivity of African countries towards the apartheid regime of South Africa In light of that concern, China asked the United States of America to try to end that intervention
