Abstract

   The research problem is based on the assumption that the social system in Iraq suffers from constant re-production. Therefore, the research aims to identify the role of university education, whether it contributes to the modernization or reproduction of the social system by analyzing its role in the educational, Political, economic and cultural.

The research was organized into three sections: the first, reviews the general framework of the research, presents the second, the theoretical framework, and the third the metholodological framework, and the fourth of the results of the research and discussion, which is a descriptive research, and used the methodology of social survey through a questionnaire composed of (39) University professors continuing to work at the University of Maysan in southern Iraq, to ​​identify their views on the role of university education in the system of socialism.

The study concluded several conclusions, the most important of which are: 1- The dominance of males in the field of university education in Iraq by (78%). 2- The university education has a role in the social system (62%) where its role in re-producing the system exceeded its role in updating it. 3 - has a major role in the reproduction of the political system by (65%) exceeded his role in the components of the other social system.
