The Burma of the most important Southeast Asian countries and is strategically located multi-economic and resources, so it sought United States after World War II to promote the military, political and economic influence in Burma and to find a foothold and a safe place her in that important region and an attempt to prevent the Soviet Union from imposing dominant influence, especially after weak US allies (British and the French government), and the success of the Soviet Union in strengthening its presence in some of the countries in the region and extending good relations and the signing of several agreements with the Burmese government.
For its part, the Burmese government has taken a policy of neutrality and tried to achieve a balance between the west and east and closer to the camps of both camps in order to develop and improve the political, economic and military conditions, and the export of rice, the main product of the Field, especially after World War II. As a result, sticking to the policy of neutrality lasted for the duration of search.
