يتناول هذا البحث دور الطبقة الإجتماعية في تعلُمْ اللغة الإنكليزية من قِبَل طالبات اللغة الإنكليزية, كلية التربية للبنات, الجامعة العراقية. تهدف الدراسة الى:
- بيان مفهوم الطبقة الاجتماعية وانواعها.
- معرفة تأثير الطبقات الإجتماعية على تعلم اللغة الإنكليزية من قِبَل هؤلاء الطالبات.
في الجانب التطبيقي من البحث, تم الحصول على المُعطيات من إجابات الطالبات على الإختبار الذي خضعن له والإستبيان الذي ألفَ لتحديد الطبقة الإجتماعية التي تنتمي اليها كل طالبة لتبيان تاثيرها على تعلمهن اللغة الإنكليزية.
إن المنهج الذي إعتمدتهُ الباحثة في الجانب التطبيقي, يقوم على عمل إختبار شامل للغة الإنكليزية على خمسين طالبة من قسم اللغة الإنكليزية, كلية التربية للبنات, الجامعة العراقية مُلحق بإستبيان لتحديد الطبقة الإجتماعية التي تنتمي اليها كل طالبة.
وقد أظهرت نتائج الإختبار أن معظم الطالبات الممتحنات لم يجتزن الإختبار, وان معظمهن ينتمين الى الطبقة الإجتماعية الدُنيا.
وحتى الطالبات اللواتي نجحن في الإختبار كان نجاحهن ضعيفاً مما يؤكد على حقيقة أن الطبقة الإجتماعية الدنيا تؤثر سلباً على مستوى تعلم الطالبات للغة الإنكليزية, وعكسه صحيح.
