Population distribution map in Halabcha district, northeastern Iraq A cartografia-population study

Abstract

The study aims to identify the characteristics of the population distribution in the district of Halabja, and to indicate the areas of their concentration and dislocation and how they spread in spatial units, through the preparation of a set of maps designed using modern geographical techniques and linked to databases and digital information that can be referenced and updated when needed, as well as the interpretation of those maps And analyzed according to the various statistical and cartographic criteria and indicators, and in order to achieve the above, and in light of the availability of the necessary official statistics, the research was conducted on this subject to determine the nature of the population distribution and to determine the patterns of their concentration and disparity between one region and another.

        The study concluded with a number of results that emphasize in general the tendency of the population towards the southern and western regions and away from the eastern region of the judiciary, especially at the border strip linking Iraq and Iran, in addition to the imbalance in the distribution of the population and its density rates among the administrative units, as it is concentrated (73.1%). Of the population in the center of the district of Halabja and the district of Sirwan, whose area is (44.1%) of the total area, while the districts of Khurmal and Byara include only (26.9%) of the population, compared to their acquisition of (55.9%) of the area.
