The White Population and Displacement Policy of Indigenous People in the United States of America 1817-1832

Abstract

The indigenous people in the United States of America were subjected to a number of exclusion and deportation policies by the Americans in order to seize the lands in which they inhabited. The last of those policies was finalized by the Congress law of 1830, which included displacing indigenous people from areas east of Mississippi River neighboring the American states ranging to distant areas west of Mississippi River. With no doubt that 1830 law of removing and displacing indigenous peoples resulted from a series of events. That was not possible to happen after establishing the white dominance east of the Mississippi River during and following 1812 War, in addition there was a tense debate between the federal government and Georgia state regarding the rights in native peoples' land. This controversy reached its climax in the period of James Monroe presidency. In fact, these events indicated a turning point in United States history There was a growing belief among white statesmen that the unresolved relation between white people and native Americans was extended to be on a crisis level, so there was a desire to displace the native American population by enhancing political conditions that allowed introducing federal legislations to handle with the situation. It was probable that Americans' motive and enthusiasm to expand in the late portion of 19th century first decade and 1820s got into a conflict with U.S. policy toward native American population. Also, originated contradictions in in the United States, particularly concerning the ate about native American population increasingly prospective.
